I’ve just posted some new holiday-inspired blog headers. Unlike REAL holiday decorations, these strings of lights never get tangled and the bulbs never burn out. ; ) Here’s a link to some before’s and after’s for some fun inspiration: http://bit.ly/1odFN3z
Do you decorate your blog or social media profiles for the holidays?

I can attest that working with Debbie is an absolute dream. I love my new decorated headers.

Last year, I changed the background on my twitter feed.
Drupal has a Christmas Lights module https://www.drupal.org/project/christmas_lights
and a Christmas snow module https://www.drupal.org/project/christmas_snow
that I might use.

How handy that you’ve got options built right into your theme!

Thank you, Patty. I love both of yours…but especially Broken TeePee!

I normally haven’t decorated the blogs for the holidays, but I do often change out the Facebook header to something festive.

Thanks for the sweet compliment, Kimberly.
You’re absolutely right… there’s a fine line between tacky and tasteful. ; ) I like to stay true to a blog’s color palette and bring in seasonal elements in the same colors…even if it’s non-traditional. Like substituting pink for red if your blog is pink.
I also agree on social media… Facebook is a great place to have fun with cover images, as opposed to going wild with changes to your blog. That’s how I approach my own.

I don’t decorate my blog for the holidays, because I always worried about it coming off as tacky, but this year, I kind of want to make small changes – may be different colors on my social media icons. The rest is part of my brand (the green, blue and white) and I don’t want to mess with that. So what I’ve started doing is making changes to my Facebook timeline picture to reflect the season or the holiday. The one I have up now will last through November and I’ll switch it to a winter theme in December.
Debbie, you’re one of those people who have a personal style that I admire, but can never pull off for myself. It’s fun seeing what you come up with.

I love switching things up on Facebook too. It’s also a great way to boost engagement and get people talking.
