Comment by Caren Osrin Gittleman on February 28, 2013 at 4:30pm @glogirly LOL!!!! Noooo it isn't them...but.......about a week after you did your post I DID get an email from them. I never responded. Did you see that Feeling Beachie did a review for them too?
thanks for your advice....they have just left a really awful taste in my mouth. I am leaning towards emailing them TOMORROW and telling them that since I didn't hear from them I wouldn't be able to do the review. I don't know. I sent 3 emails this week.....I was more than apologetic.....oh well!
Comment by Caren Osrin Gittleman on February 28, 2013 at 4:27pm @Cinny thanks...I will give your suggestion some thought (It IS a good one)....oh I would NEVER publicly blast them, never. I more than likely am not going to do the post.
Comment by Cinny@WhirlwindofSurprises on February 28, 2013 at 4:21pm @Caren, as unprofessional as they are, I would probably fire off one last email gently stating that their unwillingness to provide the necessary info will result in the inability for you to provide your post. I would let others know what company it is as I would not want to work with companies like that. However, I would also not publicly blast them as it may affect other companies that may want to work with you in the future. Worst comes to worst, don't post about it. At least you tried, right?

I completely agree with you and would have done the same. I can't think of anyone who wouldn't understand misplacing an email given the amount of them we all sift through everyday. And worse yet...you don't want your winners to have a bad experience with the company because as much damage control as you do, there will always be a part of them that associates that brand with you.
I recently had to do some serious pushing with a vendor who wanted to change the terms of a giveaway I did for them after the fact. They were going to make it more of a hassle for the winners and that just wasn't what I agreed to. I told them I'd rather just BUY the products my readers won and send it to them. I'm very relieved they decided to do the right thing.
Ok, now on a funny note. ...your description of this whole experience sure sounds like a certain eyeglass company that had no idea a CAT was ordering and reviewing their glasses. HAHA!

Comment by Carol Bryant on February 28, 2013 at 4:13pm I will say this that sometimes things can get lost in translation in email - and maybe the person who sent you the info originally has no clue someone else is doing this. Maybe give them a call and see if you can straighten it out. Else, I'd probably just move on.
Comment by Lenore Pryor on February 28, 2013 at 4:11pm I agree totally with Dawn. How horrible!
Comment by Caren Osrin Gittleman on February 28, 2013 at 4:09pm Dawn thank you!!! The "responsible" part of me felt like I should still blog about it. I have decided if I don't hear from them I am not going to. I agree with you 100%
With a reply like that I would have done the same Caren! That's not a very professional response and if they reply like that to someone who is going to promote their product and company, imagine how they would reply to a customer who has a problem.

Hi Guys! I am pretty upset right now and know what I am going to do but want your opinions.
Today is Dakota's birthday,I blogged about it today. I had a product I was going to feature tomorrow that I was going to tie in with his birthday. I do not want to say the name because I don't want to publicly bash this company.
About a week ago I realized that somehow I misplace our email communication. (I have NEVER had this happen in my 3 yrs of blogging)
After frantically searching every where I was able to contact the company and mentioned that I had lost their communication and needed info again about the give-away details (who is eligible, how many winners etc) I also apologized. I had also told them that I needed some of their photos (yes I was going to include some of my own as well but I like to use the company's photos too)
I received a horribly written response back saying
1) They had already answered my questions
2) They had already sent photos once
3) They had heard from "Dakota"
I told them that that was the point, I had accidentally lost their initial communication which I apologized for. I told them they didn't hear from "Dakota" because he is a DOG and cannot type :) that they had heard from ME.
I apologized again and asked for further give-away clarification (remember I had lost the info) and photos and asked them to "please bear with me"
I sent that 2 days ago, I have heard NOTHING. I emailed them again late yesterday saying I needed the info today so that I could write the blog post for tomorrow.....I haven't heard a word.
I am so irate that I have chosen to NOT feature them AT ALL tomorrow (and possibly never)......they are not a huge company, and...I have worked with MANY different companies for product reviews/give-aways and have NEVER experienced such rude and uncooperative people.
Would you also choose to not feature them?
Thanks for listening!
Comment by Dash Kitten on February 26, 2013 at 1:33am OK I have finished my work away from home and Dash Kitten's blog is on track. I am adding content and esbalishing regular weekly spots, while working out what the Delicious theme can do on Wordpress.
Do any of the more seasoned bloggers have any comments about www.dashkitten.com so far? Or any tips on how to expand using the current theme - which everyone likes btw!
