Summer travel season is coming and I have been searching for a dog friendly beach in the Massachusetts/New Hampshire area.

I thought it might be a great idea to start a thread listing the pet friendly places we discover that others might want to try near them or if they are traveling that they can see when they are on the road.  We can also ask questions, like my beach one, to see if anyone has located these places we have been searching to find.

Fun! What exactly are you looking for. FIDO Friendly magazine has been in publication for 11 years and we are ready to celebrate issue 50 this summer! Maybe I can help if you narrow down an area????
I would love to find a dog friendly beach in Massachusetts.  I have tried the Internet, doggie boards, etc.  I got one suggestion for CT so far.  I am willing to try NH.

Right where I'm sitting right NOW!!  Nauset LIGHT Beach in Eastham.  Make sure it's Nauset LIGHT beach  -- next to the Nauset Lighthouse... not Nauset Beach, which is in Orleans and I don't think they allow dogs.

Nauset Light Beach allows dogs all year long, they must be leashed and you need to sit in the non-lifeguard-protected section of the beach.  In other words, you just walk past the signs that indicate where the lifeguards are watching, and then you can sit anywhere.

It's the most beautiful beach in the world LOL :))

There is a dog-friendly beach in Orleans as well.  It is called Rock Harbor Beach.  I believe dogs do NOT need to be leashed here.  I have only taken my dogs there once, so I can't remember.  I live right next to Nauset Light Beach so I just always go there, it's easier.

Where are you located in Mass.?  I live in Eastham as often as possible, but my "real" home is in Spencer out in Worcester county.

I'm in Marlborough, not too far from Worcester.  Thanks for the two names, I will have to check on them.  I don't know the areas well, but I am commited to giving them some beach time this summer.

I grew up in Framingham... used to spend a LOT of time in Marlborough!

I grew up in Sudbury and spent lots of time in Framingham.
