A certain hotel? Restaurant? Store? Wondering because more and more places are becoming pet friendly.  So where would you visit if pets were allowed?

More hotels!! I think hotels are starting to realize that people love to travel with their pets and are catering to prt parents with pet ammenities and such. This would help more people travel (who don't want to leave their kiddos behind) and from the business perspective, can be very lucrative!!
Amen, Grace. It is very lucrative and a win-win for all involved. As we approach our 50th issue of doing this, we are so thrilled with the number of hotels that do accept and encourage those who don't to change their minds. I am doing seminars, as a matter of fact, on this very topic. I was curious what others are feeling, so thanks for chiming in.
Quick places like Dunkin' Donuts or convenience stores.  When I'm on the road, I don't want to leave the dogs in the car if I have to stop for a coffee or use a restroom.  If I could bring the dogs into the restroom/convenience store with me, that would be great.  Especially in the summer.  I have to get creative and travel in the early morning, or late evening.  Late evening is unsafe for ME, as I usually travel alone (with no other humans).  One place I stop at on my way to Cape Cod is a gas station/convenience store that has a bathroom.  I park under where the gas pumps are and open ALL my windows and the sunroof -- this is unsafe because somebody could take my dogs or my stuff that's in the car!  It's a no-win situation.  Thank goodness for drive-thru when it comes to the coffee part!

We are RVers who travel half the year and there are so many places where we would love to go but can't because we have our dog. Our biggest wish is to see national parks and monuments allow dogs in more places within their boundaries.

Oh my goodness!  I had no idea they didn't!  My DH and I have had this dream for retirement, but without our dogs...Well, that certainly changes things!

Don't let it stop you, just be aware that there are a lot of restrictions that make it nearly impossible to enjoy the parks together. Some national parks and monuments are more laid back than others but the most popular ones have very strict rules and dogs can't go many places other than the parking lot). We always stick to national forests and BLM lands which don't impose such crazy laws on dogs.

I  have to agree with Gracy more hotels..especially at conventions..i tag along with my husband sometimes and many of them are not pet friendly.   But I am excited that vegas finally  has some hotels on the strip that they can go to.  I have a new dog named Elvis (didn't name him..came with the name) that I so want to take to Las Vegas with us next time we go!  The pictures we could get with our westie ...Elvis with a show girl, elvis playing the slots, etc. lol.

I also wanted to take my dogs to the grand canyon but they aren't allowed there the last time I checked.

Hi Y'all!

Wish hotels that are Fido friendly didn't put a weight limit on dogs.  My Humans would take me more places if they were not charged a huge surcharge 'cause I weigh in at close to 100 lbs. or the weight limit is so light that only a Yorkie could qualify.

My other pet peeve is that most places stick you in the undesireable rooms. Hey, I live in really, really nice surroundings, I don't want to be stuck in a scrungy room.  My Humans can never seem to find any waterfront accommodations when they have me with them.

I wished more state and federal parks would allow dogs.  Even the Grand Canyon has rules on pups.  If the pups can't go, we don't go!

Hotels on Disney property! If you're paying $400 a night or more, you should be able to bring your dog.

Wish Gaylord Palms also allowed dogs. They have plenty of space to make it a nice place for dogs too.

More shopping centers. Though dozens and dozens have opened their doors to pets (mostly dogs), we have miles to go.

Absolutely! The last time I called a hotel that said it was "pet friendly," I asked about weight limit. They said they'll allow any number of pets, so long as the total weight was not more than 40 pounds. That was my Nala as a puppy!
