Making Time to Blog - BlogPaws 2012

Is there anyone who ever finds enough time to do every blogging task on our list?

I didn't think so.

I'll be talking about strategies for making it feel like you have more time--even if I can't give you more hours in the day at my Thursday afternoon session.

After the presentation, I'll post my presentation here and on my website, Something Wagging This Way Comes.

BlogPaws 2012 Presentation

Yesterday's presentation went great.

I'm attaching the Prezi here (if you haven't seen a Prezi before, I think you'll like it.)

Since the Prezi was just an aid to the talk, you won't get everything here that  came up in the talk (but, you also won't have to hear my bad jokes).

So check out Making Time to Blog.

And share your victories and defeats as you try to make the most of the time you have to blog.

I've recommended Evernote to a few people. I haven't found the need since I'm computer bound and not mobile friendly myself. :)

Thanks for sharing your secret, Jodi.

It's one of my best loved tasks to curl up with Koly on the couch on Sunday morning, sip a cup of coffee and tackle the interwebs to figure out what will go in the woof.

I don't get to comment too much during the week, as too many sites are not mobile friendly, so it's also my way of giving a shout out to those blogs I read and love, but don't always get to comment on. I also like to support my fellow bloggers from my Triberr tribes, here and a few other networking sites. (On that note, if anyone has a post they particularly love, I always accept submissions for the woof! Anything goes giveaway, DIY, recipes, humour, news...I'm not fussy!)

Right now I use Evernote to keep track of posts I want to feature, mostly because it's multi-platform, so I can access all the same notes on my phone, iPad and laptop. I actually do a lot of my blog planning in Evernote - new post ideas, potential sponsors/giveaways, blog maintenance "to do" list. It's replace the intricate system of "post it notes" that was slowly overtaking my entire house!

Bwah ha ha... I know what you mean, Caren.

@Carol I hear ya but sometimes I feel like I am suffering from OVERDOSE!! :)

Caren, I have a 12-step program for withdrawal; I just need to implement it sometimes. I get the heavy sigh from the dog now when it's time to get off. I kid you not. It's like blog drugs... I can't stay away ;)

@Carol your last comment just described me COMPLETELY! :)

ROFL Caren. You have to do it where you can't see it but you can hear it. I know how you feel... anal personality and the need to assess. I slowly immersed myself. I can easily get sucked in to surfing the net, look up and think, "OMD where did 2 hours go!"

Carol love the stopwatch idea but with my anal personality, I would be constantly staring at the watch to see how much time I had left and THAT would become another TIME WASTER for me! lol

I commit myself to blocks of time for each of my many social media tasks. It's the only way to get through it, have fun doing it and not let it overwhelm me. I even bought a stopwatch, and it has been working. I am glad for this group and how others are managing time, too.
