My second-chance-dog Pierson just had his first year anniversary in his new home on January 10th. He wrote a cute little poem about his past year's experience - http://americandogblog.wordpress.com/2013/01/09/nearly-wordless-wed...

Just introducing myself, I am Chris, and my Dog is Charlie.  I rescued him 4 months ago now, although he was never in a shelter, he is now a year and a half old and is in the process of eating me out of house and home!

Hi!

I don't know if I've introduced myself here, but I'm Christie, and my dog Lulu was a shelter dog, as was my cat. Lulu is now the star of lifewithbeagle.com.

I'm posting here specifically because I need some help getting another dog rescued. I've been trying to spread the word for the past month about Tuson, a 7 year old beagle boy in the Seminole County Animal Services in Sanford, Florida. He's not in danger, but he's still in there. I just want him to find a home, and I'm wondering if any of you know a good place where I can spread the word. I just found out there's another dog that's been there 3 years as well -- a pit bull! That's too long to exist without an owner. I'd like to help them if I can.

Hi everyone! I'm here to announce a new group-authored blog over at TeamUnruly.com. We're a group of dog owners (both first- and second-chance dogs!) who think there's more to dog ownership than hanging out in the backyard and walking around the block. We're here to show you all the awesome activities you can train for and compete in, as well as training tips and tricks, book and product reviews, and reflections on what it means to own second-chance dogs, difficult dogs, and top-notch performance dogs. Come check us out at TeamUnruly.com!

Hey everyone. Another Dawn here. I'm new to blogpaws and new to blogging. I have 3 rescue dogs - the latest of whom is deaf. I'm a former animal shelter vet tech. I have been involved in the sport of agility for several years - my oldest dog is pretty accomplished in the sport. I've recently started training all 3 dogs in nosework. Glad to be here. My blog is called The Second Hand Dogs

Hi there!

I'm a blogger and fur mom.  We have two cats and two dogs and we're in the process of adopting our fourth dog (our sweet third passed away shortly after she came to live with us and I'm not ready to give up her #3 spot in our family).

I'm excited to get to know you.

Thanks Dawn and Dawn.  lol  It can be overwhelming but they are my companionship (my husband is an over the road trucker) and my alarm system.  :)  We have lots of land and a decent sized house so we're not tripping over them too much.  I wouldn't part with a single one.

7 - Wow is right! I've had 6 at one time when I worked at an animal shelter over 15 years ago so Kathy I completely understand how you can have so many. :0)

Welcome Kathy!  Wow 7 dogs. I sometimes feel overwhelmed with my 4. I'm sure Moose will be happy to join your crew (I love dachshunds.  Hope to have another one some day.
