I also write fitness, health, and business articles. My boxers, Gertie and Duke, inspire me and make me laugh every day. They are featured often on Iowa Dog Blog. I live in Iowa with my sweet canines and sweet husband.

I simply can't be trusted. As I discussed in my last post, I would very much like to name your dog. But if you let me nickname your dog, I'll make it weird.
However, if love is measured in nicknames, then my dogs experience immense amounts of adoration, just this side of smothering.
Gertie's name is kind of a nickname in itself,…

I borrowed the Big Book of Baby Names from my junior high library several times, but not because I was spending my time in such a way that would result in a teenage pregnancy. Far from it. Not a problem Andrea. Go ahead! Thanks for plugging my blog (in advance)
Hi Andrea. The biggest tip I have is patience. That aside, when I take my camera outside I sit at ground level and use sport mode on my camera where I can continuosly click off pictures as the dogs run to me, then I can sift through the pics for a good one. In the house I use auto mode. Usually when I go to take the shot the dogs aren't that close, but as soon as they see me go too take a pic, they get up in my face and that's how I wind up with the REALLY close ones. Hope this helps.
