I love it when my cat, Sophie, follows me around the house. Ode to a Once-In-A-Lifetime Cat

Many of my readers know about my current cat, Sophie. I haven’t told you yet about Nubie, my tabby Tom cat who chose to live with me for ten years.We love all of our cats, for sure, but there is always one that stays in our heart and leaves a lump in our throat forever. February is National Spay and Neuter Month and the time to spread the word about how important this procedure is for our feline friends.People used to believe that it was best to let the female cat experience at least one “heat” or mating season, but that is not true any longer.  Veterinarians have learned that there is no advantage for the cat and it contributes to cat over population in the world.Some folks are against the practice, saying that it is not “natural” and is abusive to the cat.…See More
