Elizabeth Benoit said… Kathy, I just finished reading your post titled "On the Cusp: Connections Between Special Needs Dogs & Special Needs Kids". It almost brought me to tears. I loved it. I have worked with many special needs kids during my career as a 4th grade teacher and would have loved to expose them to the love a dog can bring. I also met some of the most misunderstood dogs while volunteering at the local Humane Society. If people would just look in their eyes and not at their size, maybe more would find homes. Thank you for all you do to spread the word that rescue dogs might be the ones rescuing the owners.
