Vizsla Bart Retires as a Legend

Hunting dogs come in all shapes and sizes but few, if any come on three legs. Five years ago, Tripawd Vizsla Bart changed all that when he began his AKC field trial career. Now at age 8, this osteosarcoma miracle dog has garnered numerous hunting dog awards and titles, turning the sport on his head every time he made an appearance as he showed spectators and judges what three legged dogs can really do.…See More

So hoppy to be here!

Tripawds is the world's largest community for three legged dogs and their humans. Founded by Spirit Jerry G. Dawg, bone cancer hero and patron saint of tripod dogs everywhere, Tripawds provides resources, education and support to pawrents of dogs who have been diagnosed with canine bone cancer or whose dog is losing a leg for other reasons.

Our hero, Jerry, lost his leg to bone cancer in 2006. Given just four months to live, he beat the odds for two years as we traveled around North America for our last road trip together. Everywhere we went, people were amazed as he showed them that "It's Better to Hop on Three Legs than Limp on Four!"

Today his volunteer-run community has turned into our full-time labor of love. Every day we learn so much from these amazing dogs and their humans, we couldn't ask for more.

Thanks for the friend request! Love Tripawds blog and actually bought one of the harnesses awhile back for my dog who is not a tripawd, but has radial nerve paralysis in one leg. :)

Thank You, Is your blog basically about pets that have lost a leg. I never thought anyone would use the leg concept.  Cool blog.
