If your dog has been diagnosed with bone cancer, your vet will suggest a radiograph to check and see if the cancer has spread to his lungs (also known as metastasis). While x-rays are standard protocol before making the choice to pursue palliative care with amputation surgery, a CT scan may be a better choice if you have the financial means.
