When Marcuz got hurt back in February and I had to rely on a friend to take me to the vet almost five days later. I realized that I needed to get a vehicle somehow thus the idea of campaigning for the Ferret Chariot came to be.

After searching many used car sites and the classifieds a fixed amount of 3000 dollars was reached as our goal amount. I set up a Chip Inaccount and started using twitter and my blog Enlightened Ferret to bring awareness to the campaign.

At this point the Ferret Chariot campaign has gathered a thousand dollars towards the purchase of a vehicle. For those that donate get to choose what name they would like displayed on the vehicle as supporters. I also have different levels for pet related businesses to donate at and receive ads on the vehicle, for the life of the vehicle, and on my blog for a specific amount of time along with some other perks that are listed on the Chip In.

 I am also offering a ride to two donators to the upcoming Blog Paws conference in Salt Lake City, UT this June along the route I will be driving.

The Ferret Chariot ideal vehicle is a van. This way I can set up the back for Manny and Marcuz to ride comfortably for short or long trips. It also offers the most area for ads, the list of donors, and the graphic I want to put on the front or side.

This mobile billboard will be seen in several states as Manny, Marcuz, and I go to different events and conferences. Because of the uniqueness of the pets traveling and the fact it will be advertising that social media helped purchased it. People will want to talk to me about how it came about and I will have the opportunity to give out company business cards, brochures, and/or samples along the way.

Our end date for donations is May 14 2012 to give us time to find the right vehicle and get it purchased and painted before leaving to go to the Blog Paws Conference in June. Manny and Marcuz would love to be able to update their traveling page on Facebook.

 I would love to meet this goal and show people the power of social media in way that makes a difference in the lives of people and pets. As I also hope to help shelters, rescues, and humane societies write good profiles for ferrets in need of forever homes.

 No matter how small the donation it all helps and everyone that has helped with be displayed on the vehicle with pride for the life of the vehicle and a thank you post on my blog.
