Pages Your Blog Needs

Topic Progress:

Before you get started with publishing posts, there are some must have pages that your blog needs. As you grow, you may update these pages or add other pages to your site.

About Page

Your About page is the most important page in your blog navigation. This is where readers will click to learn more about you and your story. This is the place for you to shine and share all of the reasons why you’re an expert in the niche that you’re blogging about.

What Should You Include on the About Page?

  • A description of your personal brand story.
  • Photos of you . . .and your pets!
  • Fun facts or bullet points about you.
  • Links to your various social media channels.
  • A roundup of your recommended blog posts.
  • A video introduction.

Contact Page

It needs to be obvious to readers and brands how to get in contact with you. Having a dedicated contact page is something that brands look for. You can add a contact form to the page but it’s important to also type out your email address so that it can be easily copy & pasted. For example, PR companies often need a list of email addresses. If they go to your blog and only see a contact form, they’ll skip over your blog if it’s not easy to find your email address. Make sure it’s clear and obvious!

Disclosure/Privacy Policy

If you plan to make money from your blog, you need to have a disclosure policy. This is actually required by law! A disclosure policy tells your readers how your blog makes money and how their information is used.

If you need help with the wording, Termly has a helpful disclosures policy generator you can use for free.

If you want to take this a step further, check out Businessese.  They have an entire shop of disclosure statements created by lawyers and catered towards influencers that you can purchase.
