I recently came across three sites that are stealing content from several cat and dog bloggers (including my site). The sites are in Spanish and French, but if you run them through Google Translate, you may recognize some of your content:
The sites appear to be owned by the same person. I’ve filed a copyright claim with the host, we’ll see what happens.
If you have any questions, feel free to email me or send me a message via Facebook – chances are I’ll see that before I check for messages here.
Best,
Ingrid.

I remember a french cat page on facebook a few months back with a lot of copyright theft; it might have been Chat Minou. They even went so far as to put their logo over the logo of the source of the image.

As French is my native language, I can tell you that Chat Minou is a bad translation of the worst quality from blogposts written in English. It looks like a rough copy and paste in Google Translator. I checked today, and the website is still online. I had to smile : they even stole a blogpost about “My content has been stolen” !

I submitted an image to a french-language cat-shaming page. They agreed to post it and told me when they would. No problem yet.
When they posted it, they put their ©copyright watermark right across the front. Nothing in their policies states that submissions become their property; they do have a page that everything there is under copyright. They did not add anything else to the photo that could qualify as a transformative use.
They took it down without admitting fault.
On my page, I specifically state that the original authors retain copyright on the photos and texts, but I claim copyright on the compilation.
