Thought I would share these articles about online images and copyright- http://www.socialmediaexaminer.com/copyright-fair-use-and-how-it-works-for-online-images/ and

http://www.savingforsomeday.com/blog-law-photo-use-and-etiquette/ (has a series called Blog Law that might be worth reading).

I know I’ve seen blogs around the blogosphere that used pictures from news sources (like the AP) and wondered what rights as a blogger we have in using them. I thought this article did a good job going through the copyright information for images (good info in the comments in the first article).

I use my own photos, photos with Creative Commons from Flickr (found through Wylio), images from stock.xchng and occasionally paid images through iStockphoto.

What sources do you use for images?

I use my own in posts and fotolia.com for other things that best represent what I am trying to convey. (Fotolia sometimes have the same images as iStock, but cheaper pending the size you need)  I have a subscription to both but fotolia I can get bigger images for cheaper).  I never randomly pull images from sites as that is wrong and can get my site (me) into a LOT of trouble. 🙂
