Has anyone else started using Pinterest?  It’s all the rage you know ;-).

I actually hadn’t heard of it until I started receiving traffic from it.  There’s a good article about it on Hubspot:  The Ultimate Guide to Mastering Pinterest for Marketing

It’s still invite-only but you’ll receive one within a couple of days of requesting it. You can find me here:

Please share your ID link so we can follow you.  I also have a blog post about it that you can add your ID link to if you wish.

      Thanks!

What’s worse is we can say we’re marketing so it’s time well spent! That can justify the loss of WEEKS (not saying how I know that).

They’re discouraging promotion so I didn’t use a business name.  Maybe they’ll follow the lead of other social networks and offer business pages later.  Or maybe they already do and I missed it entirely while “working” at checking out everyone’s pinboards.  😉

Melody, I’m glad I didn’t have coffee in my mouth when I read what you said about time well spent…. lol

Last week I read several articles about Pinterest that explored using business names, which is why I now have a “business account” in addition to my personal account.    And I should add that my personal account is /suekottwitz     My business acount is /forloveofadog  and will be devoted exclusively to pet related boards.

Blog Paws…. no, not planning on it.  I really should’ve gone this past year when it was in Virginia.  Then again… who know?! 😉

Thanks for the info, Sue, I’ll have to do some more reading on it.  A business account would officially make it “work”, yes?  😉

My apologies for endangering keyboards…LOL.  You people are a good way to start the day. 🙂

Melody,  While I was signed into my “regular” personal Pinterest account, I invited myself – my business email address – to join.  Easy. 🙂   And… I should know by now to carry a napkin or hand towel or something with me to the pc …  😉

Sue- That’s a good idea about using your business name although then I would spend much more time on there keeping up 2 accounts.

Linda- I thought the same thing about being able to hide a board, but there doesn’t seem to be a way.  Maybe they’ll add it on!

Because I wanted to try a contributor board I made a Blog Paws Board for people to pin their blog’s badge to. If you want to be added as a contributor, just shoot me an email at affurmation.blog@gmail.com (I’ll get it faster than if you post to the community) with your Pinterest account name.

Great article about Pinterest.  I had no idea that videos could be posted!  I also didn’t understand the “group board” thing until I read this article:  http://www.simplyzesty.com/social-media/top-tips-for-brands-on-pinterest/

It’s probably the most user-friendly network ever.  Original yet simple.  🙂

Dawn, I uploaded my logo & description to the BlogPaws board, but boy did I feel spammy doing it…LOL.  I despise spammers… I think I need a shower.  😛

50 Pinterest Resources for Small Business Owners, Bloggers and Job … from The Work at Home Woman.

Boys can read it too ;-).

She did a fantastic job gathering and organizing the links. Dawn has been busy adding lots of great Pinterest resources directly to her Pinterest account as well.
