Registered Users?

Can anyone help me with this?  I am constantly getting “new registered user” to my site. What the heck… I don’t even have a registration page. I am using dreamhost as my server and I use WordPress… should I be worried? I have so many registered users and I don’t know who these people are and they don’t look as if they are pet people.

I have had the same thing happen to me. I google it.  As long as you don’t give them admin authority it should be any problem.  Basically it’s someone that likes you blog and wants to be notified with changes, updates, etc.  There is an option to uncheck and box so that it won’t happen.

You can disable user registration with wordpress

General Settings–>Membership–>Anyone can register (uncheck this option) and they won’t be able to do this anymore.

If you want them to register, the next setting “New User Default Role” lets you pick what their options are (usually set to Subscriber by default)
